This page explains, in plain language, what Thomas & Finch collects through this website, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. Thomas & Finch is an independent referral service. This page is not legal advice.
What the review request form collects
When you ask for a free review, the form asks for:
- your name
- your email address
- your firm’s name
- your firm’s website
- the number of employees at your firm
- the types of records your firm keeps
- an optional message
- your fit check answers (country, firm type, years of usable records, whether the records are mostly in English, and the result the page showed you)
- a tick to confirm you agree we may email you about the request
The fit check itself runs in your browser. Its answers are not sent anywhere unless you choose to send the review request form, and then they are included with that request. Nothing else is requested through this site, and we never ask you to send your firm’s files.
How we use it
We use these details only to respond to your request: to reply to you, to arrange a call if you want one, and to tell you honestly whether your firm looks like a fit. We do not sell your details. We do not share them with any data buyer unless you ask us to, or until you tell us you want to go ahead and we agree with you what is shared.
How it reaches us
When you send the form, a small program running on Cloudflare, the company that hosts this site, emails your answers to our inbox. The site does not keep a database of submissions. The email is the record. Email passes through the systems of the services involved in delivering it, such as Cloudflare’s email service and our mailbox provider.
If the form cannot send for any reason, it offers a button that opens an email to hello@thomasandfinch.com with your answers filled in, so you can send them yourself.
No analytics or ads
This site does not use analytics, advertising trackers or marketing cookies. Like any website, the company that hosts it, Cloudflare, processes technical information such as your IP address in order to deliver the pages to you.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry emails only for as long as we need them to deal with your request and to keep a simple record of our conversation. You can ask us to delete them sooner at any time.
Asking for deletion, a copy or a correction
To ask us to delete your details, to see what we hold, or to correct something, email hello@thomasandfinch.com from the address you used. We will reply as soon as we can.
Your firm’s own obligations
Your firm may have its own duties of confidentiality and data protection, set by law, by your engagement terms and by your professional body. Please speak with your own advisor about these before sharing anything with anyone, including a data buyer. We cannot advise on them.
